01 Who can apply for Discover 2014?

All AIESEC members are eligible to apply.

 

02 Where will be the conference venue?

The conference venue will be at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The accommodation during the conference will be Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp in Yuen Long. 

 

03 When will the conference be held?

The conference will be held from 24th-26th October 2014.

 

04 How much is the conference fee? What does it include?

For early bird international delegates, the conference fee is HKD 800.

For final round international delegates, the conference fee is HKD 900 for individual application and HKD 800 for group application (at least 2 people applying together).

For local delegates, the conference fee is HKD450.

 

The conference fee covers:

a.    Meals (2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches and 2 Dinners)

b.    Accommodation fee for 3 days and 2 nights

c.    Transportation costs for travelling between session venues

d.    Conference materials and light refreshment

e.    Airport pick-up service (international delegates only)

f.     An AWESOME conference experience!

 

05 What are the payment methods and procedures?

Successful applicants will receive the instructions for payment after the result announcement of the application.

 

06 Can I get my conference fee refunded if I withdraw my application?

Please refer to the cancellation policies.

 

International Applicants

Preparation before coming to Hong Kong

 

01 How do I know my payment is received?

As soon as payment is received, you will receive the confirmation email from the CC team within 24 hours.

 

02 Do I need to apply for VISA to come to Hong Kong?

It depends. For more information, please visit our Visa Application page.

 

03 Is it my responsibility to purchase insurance?

YES. It is a must for international delegates to buy insurance. Conference Committee of Discover 2014 and AIESEC in Hong Kong are not liable for any injury during your stay in Hong Kong.

 

04 What kind of insurance should I buy?

International delegates are recommended to buy travelling insurance from insurance companies according to your own needs and expected coverage.

Please be reminded that the insurance should cover your entire stay in Hong Kong, including both conference period and any prior or subsequent period of activity.

 

05 How will the airport pick-up service be arranged?

We will provide airport pick-up service depending on the arrival time of international delegates. Details will be announced when confirmation of all international delegates has proceeded.

 

06 What do I need to do if my passport is invalid at the time of applying?

If your passport is invalid at the online application period, please fill in “N/A” on the application form first, and submit an explanatory note to the Delegate Servicing team afterwards through our email aiesechk.discover.ds@gmail.com.

Please be reminded that priority will be given to applicants with valid passport. Application of applicants with invalid passport is not guaranteed to be successful.

 

07 When am I expected to arrive at Hong Kong for Discover 2014?

International delegates are strongly recommended to arrive at Hong Kong on 23 rd October to get yourselves prepared for the coming conference. Of course, you are most welcomed to arrive earlier, so you will have more time for sightseeing in Hong Kong.

 

During your stay in Hong Kong

 

08 Will accommodation be provided before or after the conference?

NO. International delegates would have to arrange their pre- and post-conference accommodation.  Assistance will be offered by the Delegate Servicing Team to book the accommodation.

 

09 What should I prepare for the Global Village?

Items representing your local culture, e.g. traditional artworks and costumes, are encouraged. You may also bring along some local food or simple mementos, such as postcards or simple decorations to be given out at the booth. You are recommended to bring more fun and interactive items,such as local musical instruments or ethnic performance props.
